Description
The album features a slew of MCs who were making waves at the time, most notably Southern stalwarts like UGK and Silkk The Shocker, the No Limit MC who furthered his career by dropping guest verses on six songs off the album.
Sonically, Ice Cream Man fuses Southern Rap with driving bass, slangy guitars, and quite a random sample palette featuring Simply Red, the Dramatics, and even a traditional children's song. The cover art bookends the whole album with imagery that would go onto to define the No Limit aesthetic, something that would be copied for years thereafter. Ice Cream Man has been reissued on 2LP vinyl.
